Three cars — or six?These British Rail PEP-family EMUs were built as three-car units and could work either individually or coupled in pairs to form six-car trains when demand called for more capacity. That makes them ideal for a modest branch-style station or a busy suburban scene. CLASS 313 · 1976–2023 Dual-voltage pioneers. On the North London Line under Silverlink and London Overground; later the Southern Coastway routes around Brighton, West Sussex and the Seaford branch. |
| CLASS 314 · 1979–2019 Built for Glasgow suburban duties. Think Cathcart Circle, Inverclyde and Paisley Canal trains, latterly in ScotRail’s distinctive Saltire livery. |
