In an interview with World of Railways, TMC's Howard Smith reflects on our 25-year history of providing commercial model railway customisation and weathering services.

What began as a response to customer customisation requests at the Trafford Model Centre has grown into a full-scale professional service. In the early days, the focus was on physical modifications (such as carving up Lima models, installing etched detail parts, and pioneering the use of LEDs—to compensate for the limitations of mass-market ready-to-run models of that era.
