Recreate one of the most distinctive and memorable passenger trains of the privatisation era with The Pink Train, a complete OO Gauge train pack featuring two Class 31 locomotives and four Mk.2F coaches.

Created exclusively from TMC's Bachmann commissions, this six-model pack brings together 31601 ‘The Mayor of Casterbridge’ in its unmistakable Wessex Trains pink livery with Fragonset-liveried 31452 ‘Minotaur’, allowing you to recreate the spectacular top-and-tail Class 31 operation that became such a familiar sight on Wessex Trains services during the mid-2000s.

A railway icon in pink

In 2004, Wessex Trains turned to Fragonset Railways to provide locomotive-hauled trains following a shortage of multiple units. Class 31s were used in top-and-tail formation with Mk.2 coaching stock, operating services including those between Bristol and Weymouth.

To promote the operation, 31601 and a rake of Mk.2F coaches received an extraordinary pink and silver Wessex Trains livery. It was impossible to miss and quickly became a favourite with railway photographers and enthusiasts.

Fragonset's 31452 ‘Minotaur’ was among the locomotives used alongside 31601, with the pair documented working together in top-and-tail formation.
