TMC 'Wessex' exclusives: first livery sample on show
An exciting milestone has been reached with development of our exclusive model of 31601 The Mayor of Casterbridge with receipt of a first livery sample. And with it, our forthcoming new Wessex Trains Class 31 and rolling stock commissions from Bachmann for 4mm:1ft scale / OO gauge are looking bright!
This first sample is under review and among the minor revisions is a change to the shade of pink to a lighter version, working from the official colour scheme chart devised for the locomotive and stock.
Received at Key Model World Live, and left to explore the giant Making Tracks layout with classmate and another TMC exclusive, 31452 Minotaur, pre-orders continue to flow in against our limited run of these outstanding locomotives.
Customers who purchase 31452 Minotaur and 31601 Mayor of Casterbridge in identical format (DC, DCC sound-fitted or DCC sound-fitted Deluxe) save 15% off RRP vs. standard 10% for one model upon checkout. The same applies for identical coach packs - simply add one of each to your basket, hit 'update basket' and the additional discount will auto-apply.
We're placing our nameplate order with our supplier this week, so if you'd like one of 31601's three named guises (specify using the customisation option on checkout) now's the time to benefit!
31601 carried three names throughout its pink livery guise:
- Bletchley Park Station X (until Oct 2004)
- The Mayor of Casterbridge (October 2004 - August 2006)
- Gauge O Guild 1956-2006 (September 2006 - October 2009)
Re-wired 31601 was turned out in the bright pink livery for the Wessex Trains franchise. We've consulted period documents from the designers of the original livery to ensure the colour codes used are correct. With this first livery sample, some minor changes are required - the positionning of the yellow warning panel, and shade of pink.
We can 'debrand' and offer subtle livery changes to depict the locomotive during its pink guise, but customers must pre-order now and customise their order on checkout to secure the correct nameplates in time for delivery of these models, early 2026.
