The Model Centre is heading to Hampshire next month for Fareham RailEx 2026 – and we’re proud to be a main sponsor of this special anniversary event.

Taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October, this year’s exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of Fareham & District Model Railway Club and is set to be its largest RailEx yet, with more than 30 layouts expected alongside traders, demonstrations, societies and activities for younger visitors.

 

More than 30 layouts

The 2026 exhibition has expanded into an additional room, allowing more than 30 layouts to attend across a wide variety of scales, eras and modelling styles.

Confirmed layouts include 'Batty Moss', 'Beijiao', 'Buckleigh', 'Carlyon Dock', 'Devonport Road', 'Garreg Wen', 'Halesfield TMD', 'Nant Gwernol', 'Ropley Station', 'Wimborne Station' and 'Wykeham Junction', amongst many others.

Alongside the layouts, visitors can expect a strong trade presence, modelling demonstrations and railway societies throughout the weekend.

You’ll find the TMC team at Fareham RailEx throughout the weekend, and we’re delighted to be supporting the exhibition as one of its main sponsors during the club's 60th anniversary year.

More than just layouts

The programme includes demonstrations covering areas such as weathering and etched kit building, alongside appearances from railway and modelling organisations.

There’s plenty for younger enthusiasts too, with a Children's Corner, opportunities to drive trains, a colouring competition and QR Layout Trail. Children under 16 accompanied by a paying adult can enter free.

Adult admission is advertised at £10 in advance or £12 on the door, with accompanied children admitted free. Advance ticket holders also benefit from FastTrack entry.

Travelling by train? A free heritage bus service will operate between Fareham railway station and the exhibition. Free visitor parking is also advertised at the venue.
