Rapido unveils new GNR C2/LNER C12 for 'OO'
Rapido Trains UK has revealed its first-ever 'Atlantic' Class locomotive for 'OO' – the LNER C12 4-4-2T. Models are in design, ready to enter tooling, with twelve beautifully-detailed versions now available to pre-order from us, all with our optional leading customisation.
Liveries span the GNR, LNER and BR periods, with delivery of models most likely late-2026.

GNR C2/LNER C12: a brief history
Originally designed by Henry Ivatt for the Great Northern Railway in the 1890s, these nimble 4-4-2T tank engines worked everything from suburban services in London to branch lines across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Reclassified as the C12 under the LNER, they served faithfully through the GNR, LNER and early British Railways eras before the last one was withdrawn in 1958. None were preserved — until now, in model form.

The C12 range showcases extensive tooling variations to capture the distinctive differences across batches — from chimneys, domes and bunkers to coal rails, tank corners and condensing gear.
