Tamiya is bringing The Falcon back, 40 years after its 1986 debut. Announced as a limited edition, the new 47532 kit gives enthusiasts another opportunity to build this classic buggy, with updates that address a practical weakness in the original design. Release for this kit is due end of November 2026.

The key change is the inclusion of assembly universal driveshafts, designed to prevent the shafts from dropping out of the rear trailing-arm suspension. Full ball bearings also feature in the 2026 specification, supporting an efficient drivetrain.

The Falcon retains its original body design, reproduced in 0.7mm polycarbonate, with refreshed stickers that preserve the period appearance. Underneath is a 2WD plastic bathtub chassis with polycarbonate suspension arms and bulkhead. Short front and long rear CVA oil dampers complete the suspension specification.

For returning owners, the appeal is the chance to revisit a familiar build with the driveshaft update already included. For newcomers to vintage Tamiya, it offers a hands-on introduction to a design from the brand’s 1980s buggy range. Assembly and painting are part of the experience, giving the finished model a personal connection from the first run.
