Midland Railway 4Fs return in style

Bachmann’s latest versions of these rugged mixed-traffic workhorses are here. The 4Fs were common on freight (and some secondary passenger) operations across the LMS and BR eras, often seen hauling mineral trains (occasionally double-headed).

The new range includes:

  • BR Black late crest examples
  • LMS black variants with Midland Railway numerals
  • Fowler and Johnson-Deeley tender combinations
  • DCC ready and factory-fitted sound versions

Bachmann’s latest Class 47s raise the standard again

Bachmann’s newest Brush Type 4/Class 47 releases cover the golden age of BR Railfreight with 47280 and the present day with 47826 in West Coast Railway Company maroon.

Few liveries encapsulate the 1980s quite like BR Railfreight large logo. Here, 47280 marks the occasion resplendent in its fresh livery, as applied to the prototype in November, 1985 at BREL Crewe Works.

Today, few Class members remain mainline registered. West Coast Railway's 47826 is in its maroon livery is therefore something of a rarity. Pair it with a variety of mainline certified steam traction and a rake of railtour coaches for the ultimate 'grand day out' in model form.

Further variants due imminently include 47226 and 47238 in BR blue, and 47791 Venice Simplon Orient Express in Rail Express Systems livery. Pre-order these versions, here.

Available as DCC ready, DCC sound-fitted and Deluxe sound-fitted models, the latest Class 47 tooling incorporates some of Bachmann’s most advanced technology to date.

Sound-fitted 'Deluxe' models feature some of the most-immersive OO gauge diesel experiences currently available:

  • A 'Bach-Up' Stay Alive system pre-installed
  • Rotating roof fans
  • Auto uncoupling functions
  • Iridescent cab glazing
  • Dual Fitted XL speaker systems
  • Enhanced bass reproduction technology
