IVOR THE ENGINE
IS ALMOST HERE

Rapido's long-awaited OO Gauge recreation of the much-loved little locomotive is now on its way, with delivery expected in Q3 2026.

PRE-ORDER IVOR THE ENGINE

Hi Mike,

Few model railway releases feel quite like this one. Ivor the Engine is more than simply a locomotive in OO Gauge; Rapido has built the release around the atmosphere, humour and hand-made charm of the original Smallfilms production.

Working with Daniel Postgate under an exclusive worldwide licence, Rapido has recreated Ivor, his train and the surrounding cast with details drawn directly from the original artwork and animations. The result is designed to feel recognisably like the Ivor viewers remember, rather than simply a generic locomotive carrying a familiar name.

It is a release that should appeal just as strongly to Ivor the Engine fans and collectors as it does to railway modellers.

PRE-ORDER AVAILABILITY IS NOW EXTREMELY LIMITED

VERY CLOSE TO SOLD OUT BEFORE RELEASE

Demand has been exceptionally strong and remaining pre-order availability is now very limited. On this occasion, it looks increasingly likely that Ivor will become unavailable before the full release reaches general sale. Secure your pre-order while allocation remains.

MORE THAN A CHARACTER MODEL

A PROPER OO GAUGE LOCOMOTIVE — WITH IVOR'S CHARACTER BUILT IN

Underneath the characterful appearance is a serious model railway product. Rapido has specified die-cast metal and injection-moulded construction, a high-quality motor and mechanism, an E24 decoder socket and a factory-fitted speaker in every locomotive.

WORKING HEADLAMPS & GLOWING DRAGON EGG

Ivor's familiar face is brought to life with working lamps, while the firebox contains a glowing dragon egg — one of the release's most distinctive details.

ORIGINAL SOUND, MUSIC & DIALOGUE

The DCC Sound pack uses sounds, music and quotes from the original colour productions, giving the model an unusually strong connection to the television series.

THE CHARACTERS COME WITH IT

Jones the Steam, Dai Station, Idris the Dragon and three sheep are supplied as 2D figures with bases, recreated from the original animation artwork.

A LITTLE PIECE OF IVOR'S WORLD

The train packs include two open/sheep wagons plus a fold-up engine shed and water tower, creating far more than a locomotive-only release.

A NEW STORY BY DANIEL POSTGATE

Every train pack contains a brand-new Ivor the Engine story written and illustrated by Daniel Postgate, reinforcing the collector-edition feel.

EXPAND IT WITH THE ROLLING STOCK PACK

The matching pack adds a passenger coach, coal hopper, 1-plank wagon with crate load, further characters and a fold-up station building and platform.
