AT571 65 Watt Hand-Held Soldering Iron with Temperature Control and Additional Tip

The AT571 is a 65 watt temperature-dial controlled soldering iron which is the perfect choice for those who will mainly solder track or wiring around the layout as there is no “base station” to accidentally pull off the layout top! It’s ready to go less than 30 seconds after plugging in!

AT571 has more than enough power to keep your solder joints quick and cool, it is light and nice to hold in the hand and has excellent temperature control, with “Fast-Heat” to ensure you’re ready to solder within 30 seconds of powering up!

The temperature range is 200-480 deg C.

The AT571 uses standard Hakko-type tips that are freely available. Because we know the importance of using the right tip, it is supplied with TWO of them so you already have a spare!

Brass Wool Tip Cleaner

Brass Wool Tip Cleaner – A convenient pot with a wad of “Flux Activated brass wool” to clean your soldering Iron tip in a Jiffy.

This Brass wool will quickly and cleanly take all excess solder from the tip and also help you to remove oxides present from longer use, making future use more efficient. (Use in combination with our DCS-TRV “Tip reviver” to ensure long tip life and efficient soldering).

Never use anything more abrasive than this on your tip or you will shorten tip life considerably!

Desoldering Braid

Removes excess solder and cleans up solder joints. Essential for clean kit building in brass and for removal of parts in electronics.

Desoldering Braid gives you a clean solder pad to work with. Pack contains 3.0m at 2.5mm width.

Tip Reviver

Soldering iron tip reconditioner and reviver. Gives a new tinning coat to the iron tip, restoring its ability to transfer heat quickly. Simply allow your iron to heat up, then push the tip into this compound – watch as it is re-tinned and restored to as-new condition!

Sapphire 179 Solder (Super Versatile)

The solder that in combination with our Sapphire No Clean Flux, makes everyone an expert! Sapphire 179 solder is 0.6mm diameter solder which flows absolutely brilliantly. It is perfect for brass, copper, wiring, trackwork, soldering to nickel silver or steel and it even solders spring steel and to 300 and 400 series stainless steel when used with the right flux. It has a very narrow melt range which makes dry joints a thing of the past. It has a multiple flux core to assist wetting and flow. Because it contains some silver it ts is a little more expensive than standard solders but we make no apology for that, as this specially formulated solder is simply the very best available anywhere! Sapphire 179 used by many electronics experts and some of the worlds best professional loco builders simply because it works better!

Sapphire No-Clean Flux 50ml

DCCconcepts Sapphire No-Clean flux is an ideal companion that will make it possible for you to make perfect joints easily every time in electronics, soldering wires to track, working on or re-working brass, whitemetal or nickel silver kits… In fact anywhere that later clean might be difficult to do! The ONLY time you may want to clean this flux off post-soldering is if you wish to paint the area you have soldered, in that case, a simple wipe over with cloth or cotton bud dipped in Isopropyl alcohol or even methylated spirits is all that is needed
