Kapton Tape is always the choice where thin, completely reliable, non-bulky isolation or insulation tapes are required in professional areas. Kapton is siper-thin yet it resists penetration far better than common electrical tape or other materials.  It has excellemt thermal abilities and can therefore act as a heat shield when necessary.

 

Our double sided Kapton Tape has yet another use! Stick it to the loco chassis and then remove the top protecting layer - it will safely hold a decoder or a speaker in place and can also hold wires tidily in a safe place so they don't catch between the chassis and the locomotive body later!
