AIP15001 AIP 1:35 Scale British Army Warrior Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle
Details
The Warrior is a British armoured infantry fighting vehicle developed to carry troops safely into combat while delivering effective direct fire support. Designed by GKN Sankey, now part of BAE Systems, during the 1980s, it entered service with the British Army in 1987. The vehicle balances strong armour protection with mobility and speed, making it well suited to modern battlefield conditions. Its main armament is the 30 mm RARDEN cannon, supported by a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, enabling engagement of a broad range of ground targets.
The Warrior has been deployed extensively, serving with the British Army of the Rhine in Germany during the Cold War and seeing active service in the Gulf War, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Over time, a series of upgrades enhanced its protection, sighting systems, and overall mobility. While the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme sought to prolong its operational life, current modernisation plans focus on replacing the platform with newer systems.
