76RP007 Oxford Diecast OO Gauge 1:76 Scale Rover P6 Brigade Red
Details
Rover and subsequently British Leyland produced the P6 between 1963 and 1977 at their Solihull plant and was the last of the ‘P’ designs to appear. Over 332,000 models were produced and it was named European Car of the Year in 1964. Our latest version is registered PCG 443P from 1975 and appears in a rich dark red with contrasting black roof and lots of silver trim. The interior moulding is finished in ivory but the seats, dashboard and steering wheel are all black. The distinctive Rover badge sits centrally on the edge of the bonnet and the boot says the rest – Rover V8 3500S. Quite a powerful car, the top speed for the manual Rover P6 3500S was 122 mph (196 km/h) and for the automatic version, it was 115 mph (185 km/h). The 3500S model, launched in 1970, featured a 4-speed manual gearbox and a 152-153 bhp V8 engine, offering quick acceleration and impressive performance for the time. Unsurprising then, that such a powerful car also found favour with the Police forces round the country, a fact that has led to a previous Oxford replica too.
